Jurisdiction British Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands are geographically located east of Puerto Rico, between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. These islands are an autonomous territory of the United Kingdom. The IBC or International Business Company is a limited liability company used for tax and estate planning, asset protection, and income deferral. This entity can engage in all lawful business, and can engage in business with other IBCs.

There are no particular regulations or requirements regarding the day-to-day operations of the British Virgin Islands IBC.

There are some restrictions:

  • The company is not allowed to engage in banking, insurance, company formation and management, trust or mutual funds, without a required license
  • The company cannot conduct business with residents of the British Virgin Islands.
  • The company cannot own real estate in the British Virgin Islands other than a registered office.
